I have know Bill Taylor for over 10 years. We first met when we were both adjunct faculty with the University of Tennessee College of Medicine at Erlanger. We were both rarities there - neither of us is a physician. Yet, Bill had a great knowledge base that he shared with residents and practicing physicians. He knew more about Medicare and insurance payers than anyone there. I think he know even more now.
Bill's address to the Hamilton County JFK Club really resonated with me as he spoke of the "Modern Southern Democrat." I completely agree that we (if I can tie myself to his message a bit) are the hope for actual governance. Effective government comes from the center, not the edges.
